The farm is situated in the Eastern Southland foothills and is approximately 50kms from Invercargill, 20kms from Gore and 3kms from the nearest township of Wyndham.
It has an annual rainfall of around 1150mls and has 3-4 reasonable falls of snow each winter.
Winter generally lasts for 120 days with spring being slow to kick in but summers and autumns usually have consistantly good growth.
Duncraigen consists of 747ha or 1851 acres running from light rolling country to steeper improved hill country with bush filled gullies.
The farm carries between 10500-11000 su consisting of 5500 ewes 1600 of which are recorded, 1600 ewe hoggets, 70 reistered Hereford cows, 70 associated stud cattle, 200 fattening cattle and 7 standardbred horses. Carrying capacity varies between 14.2-14.7 su per ha. and includes some winter grazing of dairy cows to speed up pasture renewal.
Ram selling occurs in the last week of Nov.,bull sales the last week of May in conjunction with the Westholm on farm sale and the standardbred horses are sold mid Feb at the South Island yearling sales in Christchurch.
The farm is always open for inspection.
